107th CSO SEASON ANNOUNCED

Season at a Glance.jpg

Croydon Symphony Orchestra are Delighted to Announce their 2026/27 Season

Christopher Braime, Artistic Director and CSO Conductor, writes:

This season aims to underline everything we mean when we say "We Are Croydon".

Croydon is unique: it has huge diversity, it has huge culture, and it has a huge heart.  With this season we aim to champion everything that makes Croydon, and this orchestra, special.  We always cherish tradition, and we see the welcome return of some firm audience favourites, but also want to be at the cutting edge.  We are very excited to be performing many works by living composers, and celebrating voices that have frequently been under-represented.

We also want to make sure that the CSO is for everyone, and we are delighted to be performing several concerts at much more family-friendly start times this year, including our "Very Croydon Christmas" at Croydon Minster on December 5th.  After our mini concert we will be joined by a very special guest in a red suit, who will be helping us get Croydon's Christmas celebrations off to a flying start, joined by CSO Brass, as we gather to sing carols around the Christmas tree.  Truly an event for the whole Family.

We also are also joined by established stars very popular with the CSO audience, as well as new friends and rising talent: We are very excited to be joined by the irrepressible Precious Akindele for our performance of the Organ Symphony as we make our triumphant return to Fairfield Halls, and we are also delighted to be joined by Classic FM's Zeb Soanes who explores the world of his beloved Suffolk with us - a love letter for Valentines day.  We also welcome Croydon Concerto Competition Finalist, Basil Alter to perform Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto.  And to finish the season, firm favourite with CSO audiences, and beyond, Alan Brown comes to bring the worlds of Jazz and Classical Music crashing together in the work of Maurice Ravel.

We are very proud, and very excited to be bringing you this season, we hope to welcome you to many events throughout the course of 2026 and 2027.

CSO ANNOUNCE "WE ARE CROYDON" CAMPAIGN

Linda Penn - Flute.webp

At Croydon Symphony Orchestra, we're pretty proud of our home town, but we also know it gets a bad reputation.  We wanted to show some of the  beauty and vibrancy of the borough, and as we always have, we want to be its greatest champions.  Our new publicity campaign seeks to show how diverse our borough is, and to show off some well-known, and less well-known corners, featuring members of the orchestra as our cover stars.

Keep an eye out for more beautiful people, and beautiful places featured throughout the season.
