For more than 20 years, Christopher Braime has been a freelance conductor working with professional ensembles and championing community music throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. 

Christopher is the Musical Director of Croydon Symphony Orchestra, the South London Symphonic Winds, the South London Sinfonia and the South London Singers.

Through his role as Director of Music at St Lukes, Woodside, he is committed to creating opportunities for young people and adults to access music who would otherwise miss out on this vital experience.   

He is also in demand as a conductor on a number of courses throughout the UK.  He regularly works with the Sue Hadley Playdays, Jubilee Wind and Orchestral Playdays, the “Spring Music” chamber course at Worth Abbey and has recently been appointed the orchestral conductor of Dunster Music Week. 

Christopher is also delighted to be returning to the Hertfordshire Festival of Music in 2027 to conduct their festival finale concert. 

In what can only advisedly be referred to as his spare time, Christopher is passionate about all things Croydon and has recently become the chair of the Fairfield Halls Piano Trust, who are in the process of trying to reinstate a concert grand piano into the Fairfield Halls.  The fledgling Trust expects to be able to make a number of exciting announcements about this toward the end of 2026.
