Hero Image: Richard Campbell, percussion player in the orchestra is standing at the Shirly Hills Viewpoint at sunset on the evening of the 2026 solar eclipse. He is overlooking the croydon skyline in the backgroup, out of focus with forest in the middle. Richard is holding his timpani sticks above his head in a cross, and in the top of the cross, at the centre you can see the setting sun. There is an overlay of 26 and 27 to indicate the 2026/27 season.

WELCOME TO OUR 107th SEASON

This season takes us to the very heart of what it is to be a Croydonian (or Croydonista!) - History and tradition, blending with the cutting edge.  We start the season returning to Trinity School, in the mighty landscapes of the Italian Riviera, the Cornish Coast and the expanse of Finland.

We are also delighted to introduce pianist/organist/composer and local superstar Precious Akindele, who some of you may remember from Channel 4’s series “The Piano”. She will perform with us in Camille Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony.  And as if that wasn’t enough, joining Precious at our Valentine’s Day Spectacular at Fairfield Halls will be Classic FM presenter Zeb Soanes.

Our roster of high-class soloists doesn't end there: in May we welcome finalist from the 2025 Croydon Concerto Competition, Basil Alter, and in July we are joined by firm Croydon favourite, Alan Brown.

Several of our concerts this year start at the earlier time of 4PM - we hope this will give you the chance to bring younger family members along too (of course, we have a family discount for our younger members).

In particular, keep an eye out for our Christmas celebrations which bring the mighty CSO brass section to an early evening of carol singing to get you into the festive mood just in time for Christmas: keep your eyes peeled for a special guest who will be making a special visit from the North Pole…
